INTERVIEW SNIPPETS

“A heritage language to me is a language that I’ve been raised with, a family language”

“I feel connected to many people.. One of my languages is European while one is a romance language. It’s unique that I can understand many people.”

“One side of my family  is Ukrainian and the other is Cuban. (People) They can’t understand that I can closely relate to both - But I am both."

“I feel more trusting of people who speak my language.”

“I have a better relation with the english language, but there's many phrases and sayings that we grew up with that  don't  translate the same and dont have the same emphasis. Food for example.”
